Biography :
Dr. Medea Burjanadze, PhD, is Associate Professor, Agricultural University of George, and Senior research scientist , Department of Forest Protection. She is Insect Pathologist, Entomologist, working on Biological control of harmful pest insect. The research activities deal with insect pest pathogens (microorganisms and parasitic nematodes) in agricultural crops, ornamental and woody plants in urban areas and forests. She has 35 years of experience in field experiments and project-related biological control research. She studies entomopathogenic fungi of Georgia since 1996. She isolated more than 200 species of EPF which keep as a collection in AUG. In 2005 and 2014, under DAAD fellowship program she worked in the , JKI, Institute for Biological Control in Darmstadt, Germany. In 2007-2008 she got a scholarships under Fulbright Program and worked in Entomology Research Laboratory at the University of Vermont (USA). She is participant and regular speaker different international forums (IOBC, SIP, IUFRO, and Entomological Congress). She is project manager of national, International and joint Projects (GNSF/STCU, SCOPES, CNR, BMBF, USA FRS). She is the author of more than 70 scientific publication and one monograph “English-Georgian dictionary of terms for integrated pest management”. Since 2007 she is the member of IOBC /WPRS and SIP. She has Academic and research experience.
