Memorandum of Understanding

In collaboration with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the University of Geneva, as well as leading universities and scientific institutes from the Caucasus, efforts to establish the Scientific Network for the Caucasus Mountain Region (SNC-mt) began in May 2013.

Concluding a series of regional meetings and events, representatives of scientific institutions from Armenia, Georgia, Islamic Republic of Iran, Turkey and the Russian Federation signed the Memorandum of Understanding in Kvareli, Georgia, on 4 July 2014, marking the official establishment of SNC-mt. A representative from a scientific institution of Azerbaijan joined the process later that year and signed the Memorandum in summer of 2015.
