The goal of this project is to try to identify the entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial human capacities of Syrian Armenians as well as their specific needs for economic integration.
The objective is to create a Syrian Armenian Database (SyAD), providing data on (i) socio-demographic, (ii) employability characteristics of the Syrian Armenians residing in Armenia, as well as (iii) prospective entrepreneurs and (iv) the key stakeholders in the economic integration of Syrian Armenians.
In regards to the employability of the Syrian Armenians, the database is to provide major data on the past/current occupations, qualifications acquired previously and the qualifications needed for future desirable employment. The employability characteristics are to reflect on a set of skills (soft, hard, technical, transferable etc.) and purposeful learning with specific opportunities for development.
A separate database will also be designed to provide data on potential businesses that can and/or have the willingness to employ Syrian Armenians, along with their basic needs from prospective employees.
A procedure of secondary data analysis of already existent data will be realized. A desk study will address the issues of economic integration of refugees and tracks success, and already existing exemplary techniques of database creation and maintenance (globally). Syrian Armenians will be approached and self-evaluation tablet forms will be filled in with the assistance of the CRRC-Armenia interviewers. Enterprises database will be created as a result of an online survey. The database was created at the end of the project is to offer a user-friendly, secure, online interface letting the users collect data on (i) socio-demographic, and (ii) employability characteristics of the Syrian Armenians residing in Armenia in order to better address their economic integration needs.
