Sustainable development is no small challenge for the Caucasus region. The academic institutions in the Caucasus countries can and should play an important role in facilitating knowledge co-production to address the sustainability challenges of the region. In the current societal and geopolitical reality of the region, the collaboration among scientists in different Caucasus countries, as well as between scientists, policymakers, and practitioners, initiated and supported by the Scientific Network for the Caucasus Mountain Region (SNC-mt), is crucial.

The workshop will open a discussion about understanding of Transdisciplinarity in the Caucasus Scientific Network – and its role in promoting integration of transdisciplinary approaches in the Caucasus countries.
